Shey El-Fasher fit be di next Gaza?

For more dan 500 days, almost 300,000 civilians dey trapped while over 780,000 pipo dey forced to leave dia homes.

Over 300,000 pipo wey no get weapon, dey cut dem off from di world for more dan one year now, including 130,000 pikin.

Since April 2024, di city of El-Fasher, wey be di capital of North Darfur State, dey suffer serious wahala under di siege wey Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group put for dia. For more than 500 days now, almost 300,000 civilians dey trapped, and over 780,000 people don waka comot dia by force.

Food, water, and healthcare no dey reach di pipo again. Pikin dem dey suffer malnutrition wey don reach dangerous level, and families don dey manage survive on 'Elumbaz'—one kain byproduct from cottonseed and groundnut wey dem dey normally use feed animals.

El-Fasher na di last big place wey government still dey control for North Darfur, but RSF paramilitary group don dey attack di place anyhow. Dem don scatter Abu Shouk refugee camp, dey destroy market, infrastructure, and dey use drone strike and artillery fire anyhow on civilians.

Pipo wey dey trapped for camps

As United Nations report talk, 300,000 civilians wey no carry weapon dey cut off from di outside world for more than one year, and 130,000 of dem na pikin wey dey Abu Shouk and Zamzam camps. Di World Food Programme no fit deliver food since early 2024, and by March 2025, 38% of pikin wey dey under five years don dey suffer from serious malnutrition.

Di situation don bad well well. From April 2023 to July 2025, almost 782,000 pipo don run comot from El-Fasher, and di Tawila region don carry three-quarter of dem. But over 180,000 civilians still dey trapped for Zamzam camp, and dem dey fear say massacre fit happen if dem try waka comot. RSF paramilitary pipo even dey record di bad bad thing dem dey do and dey share am for social media, dey show say dem no dey fear anybody.

Di humanitarian wahala don too much. Thirty-five hospitals and six schools don spoil or dem no fit use dem again. Blood banks, laboratories, and clinics no dey work again because RSF dey bomb di place and supplies no dey. Education and healthcare don collapse finish. If di siege continue, famine go catch di pikin dem.

Media bias

Di international community no fit allow El-Fasher turn to another Gaza. But di attention wey di world dey give di matter small, and media no dey report am well. To stop RSF siege, di pipo wey dey support dem, especially United Arab Emirates, need to stop to dey back dem. If dem no get support again, RSF power go reduce. If not, di kain thing wey Israel do for Gaza go happen here too—dem go dey kill pikin and civilians anyhow.

United Nations and African Union need to put more pressure for RSF body, and dem need to support Sudan transitional government well well. Di human rights violation wey RSF dey do need to be investigated, and di pipo wey dey behind am need to face sanction. At di same time, countries like Türkiye and Egypt suppose help to mediate so dat peace go dey.

Wetin dey urgent now na to create humanitarian corridor—make international organizations and regional actors join hand to deliver aid wey go save life for di pipo wey dey trapped for El-Fasher. If dem no do am, di wahala go continue: starvation, killings, and di destruction of another civilian population go dey happen for everybody eye.
